Richard S. Westfall (1924–1996) was an American historian of science, renowned for his expertise on Isaac Newton. He earned his Ph.D. from Yale University, focusing on the history of science. Westfall's credibility stems from his extensive research and scholarly work on Newton, culminating in his acclaimed biography, "Never at Rest: A Biography of Isaac Newton" (1980).
