Paul Horgan

1903 – 1995

Paul Horgan (1912–1998) was an American historian and writer known for works on the American Southwest. He studied at the University of Southern California and worked as a journalist and author before turning to historical nonfiction. Horgan is credible on Rio Grande history due to his sustained research and writing about the region’s development and conflicts along the river. He also wrote Great River: The Rio Grande in North American History and The Great River: The Rio Grande in North American History.
